Hurricane Forum with NOAA National Weather Service

June 19, 7 - 9 p.m.bs - hh 35

In conjunction with the 60th Anniversary of Hurricane Hazel, the North Carolina Maritime Museum at Southport will host a Hurricane Forum with NOAA National Weather Service on Thursday, June 19th. This "Town Hall Meeting" blends past and present with the history of the most catastrophic storm in North Carolina and will focus on hurricane preparedness. Representatives from Southport, Oak Island, Boiling Spring Lakes, Bald Head Island, and St. James will be onsite to field public questions. With presentations by Brunswick County Emergency Management, NOAA, and WECT Meteorologist, this will be an interesting and instructive program. Don't miss demonstrations and information throughout the building. The season is upon us. Do you have your hurricane kit ready?

Starting at 7:00 PM, the event will be held at the Southport Community Building, 223 East Bay St., Southport. Call the NC Maritime Museum at Southport for more information 910-457-0003.
