Southport - A 7 foot, 8 inch life-sized image of Elias "Nehi" Gore, Southport's Gentle Giant, stands watch over a facsimile of a Southport fishing pier. For 70 years, Menhaden fisheries were the lifeblood of Southport.

Visit the Maritime Museum to see Nehi and learn more about Southport's economic and recreational connection to the water.
